The Wicked Widow is the third book in The Wicked City series by Beatriz Williams。 A captivating historical fiction series full of genealogy and family histories。 Each book in this series is better and juicier than the last。

Thank you Goodreads for the ARC。 I have loved every book I’ve read by Beatriz Williams…for some reason I had not read any book in this series。 I binged the first two and fell in love with Gin and Ella。 By the end of The Wicked Widow I was fully hooked and am sad the book is over。 I need more of these two。

Oh Wow!!!!! Each book in this series is better and juicier than the last and I love it!!!!!!!!!!!! My only issue is the wait until we receive the next installment in the Gin & Ella stories。 Beatriz Williams has been one of my favorite historical fiction authors since I picked her the first one by her。 For the life of me I cam tell you which one that was though hahaha。 I highly recommend this series if you love a juicy, fascinating historical fiction story。

I was thrilled to be back in the world of the extended Schuyler clan and on an adventure with Gin Kelly。 I am impressed, as always with William's ability to write such distinct voices for her two narrators。 Although she does this in many of her books, it is strongest in the Wicked series。 As fun as Gin Kelly's story is, I find myself more invested in Ella's tale even more。 Perhaps that's because I am obsessed with Aunt Julie, and I love the dynamic of Pepper and Vivian as middle-aged and fabulou I was thrilled to be back in the world of the extended Schuyler clan and on an adventure with Gin Kelly。 I am impressed, as always with William's ability to write such distinct voices for her two narrators。 Although she does this in many of her books, it is strongest in the Wicked series。 As fun as Gin Kelly's story is, I find myself more invested in Ella's tale even more。 Perhaps that's because I am obsessed with Aunt Julie, and I love the dynamic of Pepper and Vivian as middle-aged and fabulous。 Also, I kind of love the chaos that Patrick brings to the story。 I never know what he's going to do next!I give this 3。5 stars rounded to 4 because while I loved this book, it does lack a bit of a plot。 The adventures sort of roll one into the next and the endings are always a little bit too cliff hanger-y in this series。 It is as though the novels end three-quarters of the way through the book。 I'd love each book tied up just a smidge neater。 That said, I am anxiously awaiting the next installment of the Wicked novels。**I received an eGalley of this title from NetGalley and William and Morrow publishing for an honest review of this book。** 。。。more

I fully enjoyed this book。 It was a great novel of historical fiction。 Similar to the Lions of Fifth Avenue, this story begins in two different decades and builds a story that crosses family lines and histories。 With half the book set in the time of Prohibition, it was a new take on historical fiction。

I won an ARC of this book, without realizing that it was the third book in a series。 I decided to read the other two books - The Wicked City and The Wicked Redhead - first, and I'm really glad I made that decision。 If this book is read as a stand-alone (which could be done, since pertinent information is summarized), I think I would have rated it closer to a 3-star read。 However, having read the whole series, the book read a lot better, and I picked up on a lot of little details that I would hav I won an ARC of this book, without realizing that it was the third book in a series。 I decided to read the other two books - The Wicked City and The Wicked Redhead - first, and I'm really glad I made that decision。 If this book is read as a stand-alone (which could be done, since pertinent information is summarized), I think I would have rated it closer to a 3-star read。 However, having read the whole series, the book read a lot better, and I picked up on a lot of little details that I would have missed if I had read it without having read the first two books。I have thoroughly enjoyed the entire series。 If you are interested in genealogy and/or family histories, you should definitely look into the Beatriz Williams world, as The Wicked City series is only part of the Schuyler family world, and there is a lot to unpack。 Williams' writing is entertaining, and I thoroughly enjoy how all of the characters are linked to each other。The Wicked Widow is a continuation of Geneva Rose "Gin" Kelly's story, and I'm sure that we will see more of her in future books。 The drama level is high, like a soap opera in a novel format。 Highly entertaining, and I love that Williams puts out so many bread crumbs for readers to follow and so many details for us to keep track of。 I highly recommend this book (and series) to any detail-oriented reader who is also interested in family sagas。 。。。more

This continuation of Williams' "Wicked" series alternates chapters between Gin Kelly and Ella who recently left her cheating husband, Patrick, and has fallen in love with Hector。 Aunt Julie is back and feisty as ever; stirring up trouble involving the Hardcastle family,。 A solid addition to the series, and it left me eagerly awaiting the next installment。 Williams' characters draw one in, and I, personally, love the way all the characters in her books are threaded together。 This continuation of Williams' "Wicked" series alternates chapters between Gin Kelly and Ella who recently left her cheating husband, Patrick, and has fallen in love with Hector。 Aunt Julie is back and feisty as ever; stirring up trouble involving the Hardcastle family,。 A solid addition to the series, and it left me eagerly awaiting the next installment。 Williams' characters draw one in, and I, personally, love the way all the characters in her books are threaded together。 。。。more

I loved catching up with Gin and Ella。 This book finds Gin and Anson married but trouble finds them quickly! Ella is investigating the Hardcastles' financials for her aunt Julie。 Also, Ella and Hector are still together and working on their relationship。 I love the dual time lines, catching up with numerous characters, and how the 2 stories tie together。 I hope that there will be more Gin and Ella in the future! I received an ARC if this book from a Goodreads contest。 From the in formation, I was excited to read this book。 It turned out to be good, but not excellent。 The switching from modern time to thre 1920s was a little confusing。 Thre language used for the main character in the 1920s section was a bit hard to follow until I had read quite a bit of the book。 The story was intriguing, but a bit hard to follow。

I won an advanced copy of The Wicked Widow in a Goodreads Giveaway, and it most certainly took me on quite a journey! The Wicked Widow is #3 in a series by Beatriz Williams。 The star of this show is Geneva "Gin" Kelly whose past must have been hard。 She marries Oliver Anson Marshall, a highly regarded prohibition agent from a well to do family。 And, the adventures begin。 Fast forward to 1998, when we meet Ella Dommerich, niece of high society Aunt Julia。 The stories continue, alternating between Gin and Ella until the end。 If you've read Beatriz Williams, you know her writing is tight and good。 She is amazing。 The Wicked Widow is #3 in a series by Beatriz Williams。 The star of this show is Geneva "Gin" Kelly whose past must have been hard。 She marries Oliver Anson Marshall, a highly regarded prohibition agent from a well to do family。 And, the adventures begin。 Fast forward to 1998, when we meet Ella Dommerich, niece of high society Aunt Julia。 The stories continue, alternating between Gin and Ella until the end。 If you've read Beatriz Williams, you know her writing is tight and good。 She is amazing。 If you've read the first two books in the series, you will adore this one。 Not having read the first two, I was lost at times throughout the book, trying to understand the connections between characters。 I don't recommend reading this one before the others。 My plan is to go back and start at the beginning。 Her Schuyler Sisters series appear to tie in with these 3 also。 Even if you don't know the background, you will love Beatriz Williams writing。 She is stunning。 She sure knows how to tell a story! A new Beatriz Williams book is always such a treat, and I think The Wicked Widow is one of my favorites! Wow。 Just。。。。wow。 I was lucky enough to receive an advance copy of this book through a goodreads giveawayThis is the third book in The Wicked City series by Williams。 I will start with this - if you haven't read The Wicked City and The Wicked Redhead prior to this one, that is an absolute must。 The previous 2 books in this series were interesting/exciting enough to hold my attention, but this book had me flipping pages and scanning words as fast as I could comprehend。 It felt like every chapter Wow。 Just。。。。wow。 I was lucky enough to receive an advance copy of this book through a goodreads giveawayThis is the third book in The Wicked City series by Williams。 I will start with this - if you haven't read The Wicked City and The Wicked Redhead prior to this one, that is an absolute must。 The previous 2 books in this series were interesting/exciting enough to hold my attention, but this book had me flipping pages and scanning words as fast as I could comprehend。 It felt like every chapter held a new twist or discovery/development that the reader wasn't expecting。 As a true sucker for a good plot twist, this book was exhilarating。 I quickly got lost in the pages and the stories of Ella and Gin sucked me in, especially since we FINALLY get an answer to how these two ladies are connected。 Not wanting to reveal too much plot, especially for those who haven't read the two prior books, this book definitely ends on a cliffhanger。 About 50-75% of the questions that have arisen thus far in the series are answered in this installment。 I went into this book thinking it was the third in a trilogy, and when I read the last words on the last page, realized there was another book to cover more of Gin and Ella's adventures, all I said was "Wow that was rude, Williams" with a smile on my face and in the most admiring way possible。 Well played, Williams, well played。 The only disappointment I'm feeling after finishing this is knowing I have to wait to get more of Gin and Ella (but also excited that we will get more of Gin and Ella)。 。。。more

I received an Advance Readers Copy from Goodreads giveaway。 This was my first experience with the character, Gin Kelly。 The Wicked Widow is book 3。 As a standalone, it was good。 It probably would have been a better experience for me if I read books 1 and 2。 And if there is a book 4 - it may be wise to read 3 first。 The Wicked Widow is an alternate story line between 1998 and 1920。 Pregnant ladies with romantic issues in both timelines。 Both ladies are searching for answers。
